Anti-Victim.Org staff has invested a considerable amount of time independently researching and testing many of the available non-lethal personal security and protection products and the companies that manufacture or distribute them as part of our mission and the development of our community and online education programs. The results of our independent research and testing have been used to develop a rating system to assist our supporters in deciding if a particular product or product type is right for them. The four types of personal security product rating information we provide are: My Security Zones - The personal security zones where a product is considered most effective. This is an extremely important issue when selecting a personal security product because many of the products on the market today only work after you are in a violent crime encounter - instead of helping you avoid getting into one. Reliability Rating - When purchasing any personal security product, you need to make certain you can depend on it working for you in an emergency. Our Product Reliability Rating is an indicator of the reliability of the product based on a variety of information including the company/country of manufacture, verifiable manufacturer testing procedures, and reviews from our staff and volunteers. Effectiveness Rating - It is especially important to know that a personal security product can actually do what it claims. The effectiveness of many such products is an issue because many products are inexpensively produced offshore and imported. The issue of effectiveness can be especially confusing because many of the industry ratings are subjective and included for marketing purposes only. Safety Rating - The safety factor of any personal security product is often the most significant issue especially because many types are capable of being used against you by an assailant. Also included in the safety rating is the potential for accidents or misuse and the likelihood to attract the curiousity of children in your care.

Anti-Victim.Org is dedicated to supplying consumers and stakeholders a moderated online networking environment for reviews, advice and other discussions related to the personal security products industry. The personal security product industry is growing at a rapid rate as more and more people realize they need to be prepared to act on their own behalf to avoid becoming a victim of violent crime. Unfortunately, many of the products on the market simply do not live up to their hype. Others are manufactured by offshore companies without adequate quality assurance or safety testing andcould even be potentially dangerous in the wrong situation. The Our Discussion Forums section of this website contains a series of blogs specifically for the posting of feedback about personal security products, manufacturers and other topics of interest. Consumers and industry stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the moderated discussions available.
