We're Better Than Taser Parties

Tuesday, July 1. 2008 01:59 AM Better Than Taser Parties webmaster Comments (0)

This is an ad we posted on Craigslist. After we wrote it, we knew it also had to be on the website.

Why are we better than Taser Parties?

1. This program is designed specifically for working women, college students, and any other individual that wants to earn additional income while being proud of themselves and working to educate other women about their personal security.

2. We provide you an Educational DVD to show on television. This DVD is focused entirely on women's personal security issues and offers good quality information about a variety of personal security products.

3. We are focused on the types of personal security products most women want after they have been educated about these products.

4. No Major Investment Required! Our basic product demonstration kit is only $40.00 and contains 5 of the most popular products (shipping is included).

Our program is designed for you to succeed in your immediate area (3-5 miles from your home). This keeps you from wasting money buying gas and having to drive everywhere.

Living Environments and Our Recommendations

Tuesday, May 20. 2008 04:32 AM Potential Situations webmaster

Situations you might encounter can be quite different from someone else's based on the environments where you live, work and play.

Our staff has worked to put together an initial list of recommendations for a variety of living environments. These recommendations, and the list of living enviroments, can and will change over time due to the input of our members.

Each of these living environments are open to comment by our members. These are often the same living environments covered during our My Security Sense meetings.

We strongly encourage any member that wants additional information about any of the recommendations to post their request as a comment and our staff will do their best to provide you their answers as quickly as is possible.

Please note that all blogs are moderated by our staff and volunteers in order severly limit the potential for spam in the blogs.

Please use our Contact Us form for new topic or category requests. Please do not put your requests in the body of your blog comments because they cannot be routed to the appropriate person for follow-up and may limit the ability of our moderators to approve your messages.

Thanks...

Being a Commuter and Being on Auto-Pilot

Tuesday, July 1. 2008 02:04 AM Living Environments webmaster Comments (0)

Commuter is the first living environment that became a My Security Package for our members. It's only fitting that it also become the first blog entry on the website.

The most significant thing to remember as a Commuter is to be aware. It is simply too easy to end up on Auto-Pilot - and watching Commuters is actually how we came even up with the term.

We were sitting in a Walgreens parking lot the first day we introduced our organization to the general public. This particular Walgreens was on a one of the very busiest (and therefore longest at times) intersections in Cobb County, Georgia. It was rush hour - time to head home. We just sat there watching all these people drive by in their cars that were just that - on auto-pilot.

Not only were these individual unaware of their surroundings because they were zoned out on their drive, most would also remain zoned out if they had to stop for gas, groceries, dinner or other errand.

Unfortunately, Auto-Pilot can happen to virtually anyone. The routine and monotony of the commute can be stressful and after a long hard day our minds rehash everything that happened during the day - and everything we felt - and we just happen to not pay attention, until....

It's the "until..."we need to be prepared for. And we need to admit to ourselves that we're probably not going to be ACTIVELY paying attention a lot of the time. If a Commuter can do that, then she can also chose to be prepared to defend herself if she finds herself in a potentially violent situation.

For a Commuter, Anti-Victim.Org strongly recommends that you turn your keychain into a potential weapon - but not so heavy that you end up causing problems with your car's steering column.

Our primary recommendation for a Commuter's keychain are two types of products - a Key Ring Baton and a Key Case Pepper Spray.

We'll add some follow-up postings to discuss why those two types of products and how to use them - but you can also learn this at any My Security Sense presentation and discussion forum.
