     I carry this device on my key chain. It also fits well on the outside of a purse. It hangs upside down so when you grab it and bring it up, it's in the direction you want it to be. And right when you grab it, you can release the safety and that safety becomes the trigger for the pepper spray.

     If you spray an attacker and he keeps coming toward you, you can use the Hot Walkers to strike him. They come with a free pepper spray refill, too. The straps make these weights very comfortable to hold. They actually hold them in place for you. These weights, though, are only truly effective in Red Zone encounters.

     Pepper gel. Extended range of up to 18 feet. This defense spray comes out the consistency of a gel and sticks like glue. Natural reaction would be to wipe it away.      I called this the Grandaddy of Pepper Defense Sprays. This is a self-defense spray that will incapacitate an assailant while he is still in your Orange Zone.      So for two days I’ve been carrying a key baton on my key chain. To the point, within 24 hours of having it there, I realized I actually felt stronger. Was I walking a little taller? It’s definitely got me thinking…

     For months I’ve been getting my mind around “living in an increasingly violent society.” tick: Since the inception of this organization, I have acknowledged both the need for, and the importance of, awareness and preparation. Today, though, those words feel different.

     And yes, I know it’s because of the baton on my key chain.
